The way our energy moves – and ‘counter intentions’.
Our energy moves according to our focus and intention.
So take care with what you focus on and intend. Many people live their lives not conscious of their true intentions (choices) – because the true intention is hidden.
For example, someone might want more money in their lives, but subconsciously they believe money only brings trouble, based on childhood family experiences. And that hidden belief works as a ‘counter intention’ to their desire to have more money in their lives. That creates a problem that needs to be resolved if the person is to manifest more money in their lives.

Moving through cycles of expansion
Sometimes we go through what I call a personal ‘shift’. By ‘shift’ I’m referring to something that changes or expands within us. The end result is often a shift in our perception ie how we perceive our reality, or what is real for us. It can mean giving up a learnt or conditioned part of ourselves, or a behaviour pattern that no longer serves us, or reaching for something new, so that we can connect with more of who we truly are.
It’s not uncommon that when we’re going through a shift, we might experience a need to be alone. This can be a time for reflection or a quiet ‘veg out’ time where we allow the shift to move through us until we ‘come out the other side’. Introverts especially like alone-time. It’s true for myself, as I find myself re-energised by having quiet time alone. Extroverts on the other hand, often re-energise through connection and being with others.
I hope that 2023 is treating you kindly and that this is a very expansive and joyful year for you.
It’s been some time since I’ve written a monthly blog. I was quite distracted last year by the changes that I went through - both ‘within’ as I commenced studying the Fractology Master Training – and ‘without’ as I settled into a new home. I’ve now moved through those shifts and am looking forward to an exciting 2023. In a future blog, I’ll write some more about what we tend to experience as we go through cycles.
This year I’m offering 2 types of meditation - shamanic meditation once a month – and the more eastern style meditation of mindfulness and awareness, twice a month. We don’t need to box ourselves into being one or the other. Our divine or ‘higher’ self can be open to many things that are all in alignment to our true self and our joy. So be open to all that you can be.
If you think another person might be interested in meditation, please forward this email to them or to your network(s). Much appreciated🙏
I’m also spruiking other work that I do, so please bear with this longer than usual email😊.
To book in, please phone or text: +61 414 432 737 or email: maret@maretstaron.com

Focusing on both our human and soul needs
Late last year I moved into my new home in Sydney. As many of us experience, it can take a while to adjust to a new home in a new suburb and new surroundings. And sometimes there are a lot of things to do to make the place our own. Making a place our own can be related to our alignment. We can have a deep inner knowing that we need to re-arrange things, or install new fittings or new furniture, or change the garden, or renovate certain rooms, or simply paint a new colour. At some level, we know that we need our surroundings to be in alignment with not only our soul or higher self, but also our human self.
Even though I moved into my new home 3 months ago, I’m still kind of moving in - and I’ll be complete with the move after I finish the upgrades I’m doing both inside the home and in the garden. It’s a bit unsettling, at time exhausting and sometimes very exciting. It’s a process of alignment for both my body and my soul. It also involves trust. I need to trust that what I’m doing is a necessary part of my own expansion and growth.

It’s time to start thinking about what we would like to manifest in 2022
At the end of every year, I like to think about my priority focus for the next year, what I particularly want to manifest. For me, it’s usually about some kind of expansion in my life or soul path, often about my work and how I live my life.
I like to reach for ways to increase my soul alignment, so that I’m living my life more from my higher (true essence or soul) self rather than my human (conditioned) self … it’s an eternal journey and one I hope I’ve made good progress on in this lifetime. It’s certainly been my focus for the past 30 years.
I think in many previous lifetimes I’d lost my way and in this lifetime I was determined to find my true self. To do that, I needed to let go of the conditioning and patterns that were imposed on me or that I willingly took on board, in order to live by the truths and needs of others, rather than by my own truth or soul-need. It was at times a very painful journey being honest with myself, however now that I’m on the other side of it, I look back and am very grateful to have persevered through the pain and got to a place of joy, inner-peace and equanimity.

Sometimes we just can’t see what’s right in front of our eyes
I had to really chuckle at myself. This is the background story. I love my milk frother. I use it every day to froth up milk for my chai tea. It has a small round disc that does the milk frothing. But ‘disaster’ struck when I left the disc on top of an appliance lid. Without looking the next day, I picked up the lid and the disc went flying. I searched everywhere – the bench top, the floor, under the table, under the fridge, even under the lounge on the other side of the room. I finally asked my son to help me pull out the freestanding stove as I was sure it had rolled under there. But no, not there.
The days went by and I missed my daily frothy milk chai. Then about a week later, I spilled some water down the side of the freestanding oven. As I put my hand in along the side of the oven to wipe the spilled water, suddenly the frothing disc flew out – it had magnetised to the side of the freestanding oven. It was there all along, in front of my eyes, stuck on the side of the oven and I couldn’t see it, even when I pulled the oven out to look underneath.

I hesitated, but have had a covid-19 vaccine and this is how I prepared
I resisted getting the Covid-19 vaccine for quite some time. I just felt so uncomfortable about putting that stuff into my body when it was all so new. However, after considering the research and many varied opinions including pros and cons, plus my desire to travel to places that require you having had the vaccine, I decided to go ahead. I had my first dose of the Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) vaccine in August. I resisted the pressure I was put under to have the second dose in 8 weeks and am waiting for the full 12 weeks before the 2nd dose.
What helped me get comfortable with having the vaccine was that I went to my energy healing teacher before I had the vaccine, and asked her to help my body prepare for the vaccine. And after I had the vaccine, I then went to her again, for a positive alignment of the vaccine within my body. After I had that done, I was amazed that when I tuned into my body, she felt stronger after that alignment.

Inspiration comes in surprising ways – recently from a plant in my garden
I’ve been amazed at what plants are now teaching me. They seem to resemble my own path of growth and expansion. One of them, a rock orchid that is hanging on the back wall of my current garden, has started to bloom. Previously, it was in a different position and struggled to flower. In its current position, it’s now lavishly expanding and displaying beautiful flowers.
Watching this rock orchid thrive in its new location, is teaching me a number of things:
- when you live in an environment that is just right for you, you thrive – in the way that this rock orchid is thriving in a position that meet its needs
- you discard with ease, old patterns, habits, behaviours that you no longer need – in the way that the rock orchid is discarding old brown leaves that it no longer needs
- you wear your knocks and personal issues with grace and ease, and those ‘scars of life’ don’t stop you thriving – in the way that the rock orchid has scars on its strong leaves, but it’s still thriving
- you find new ways to expand, be authentic and shine your light – in the way that this rock orchid has so many new and emerging flowers.

Vulnerability – is not a sign of weakness
I’ve always been a bit perplexed about what vulnerability really means. When I think about it, I could say that I’m allowing myself to be vulnerable when I can admit that I don’t know (especially if someone expects me to know), that I have made a mistake (especially if it results in another’s upset or anger), that I can’t cope at the moment (especially when people are used to me coping), or to speak my truth (especially if it means someone will no longer like me).
But is this what vulnerability’s about? I’d like to explore it a bit more and get clearer on what it means to me.
So, how do people who have researched vulnerability, define it? I often come across Brene Brown when I do an online search about vulnerability. She says “Vulnerability is not weakness. I define vulnerability as emotional risk, exposure, uncertainty. It fuels our daily lives. And I've come to the belief -- this is my 12th year doing this research -- that vulnerability is our most accurate measurement of courage -- to be vulnerable, to let ourselves be seen, to be honest”. Intuition – what it is and how to trust it (YouTube interview)
There are many descriptions of intuition. Yet it’s a very personal experience and we each have our own unique way of connecting to our intuition. For me I either feel it in my gut, or a thought pops into my mind and I know it’s my intuition because I haven’t been ‘thinking’ about it, that the thought seems to appear out of nowhere.
It’s taken me quite a while to start to trust my intuition. Many years ago, a thought would pop into my mind and I’d ignore it. It could be as simple as ‘take your umbrella” or ‘best not to go’ etc. And with hindsight, every single time that thought proved true. It did rain, or I had a miserable time when I went to the event or I got lost on the way etc. So eventually, I set an intention to start listening and to act on those small intuitive thoughts, and the more I did that for the little things, the more I started to get ‘bigger’ intuitive thoughts come through.

Love and Truth: we need both in order to expand and thrive
Many say that all there is, is love. That there is either love or fear. If we are in fear we can’t be in love - and if we are in love, we can’t be in fear. And love is all that matters. In some ways that’s true, however I believe it’s only part of the story.
So, what is love? One way of looking at love is to look at our actions and the outcome of our actions – it’s love if it helps us and others thrive or grow or blossom or flourish. Think about that for a while. Think of instances of love that you have experienced in the context of this definition.
Another way to look at love is to look at the energy of love. The energy of love is everywhere. It’s our life force. We can’t earn it. It’s available to everyone on the planet, no matter who we are or what we’ve done. It’s simply that we block it. If we open to the energy of love, it’s what connects us all. It is the oneness of all things.
Love is associated with the heart. Whereas truth is associated with the mind. In some ways, truth is the other side of the coin to love.
What is truth? Truth is what’s real. It’s beyond the drama of our human lives, the illusion of this planet and beyond our conditioning and patterns. I like to look at truth as the divine, eternal and brilliant truth or reality of all things. Again, many of us have at one time or another, blocked ourselves to the truth of all things. Instead, we preferred to see, hear or know things through our conditioning and human ego.

Forgiveness – a process that strengthens and frees you
The other night I was meditating on forgiveness. I wanted to understand what forgiveness could mean for me, and how and why do it. I was surprised to find that as I meditated on forgiveness, fear came up, that I was scared to forgive. I discovered a hidden belief that I thought forgiveness would weaken me, that ‘they’ would ‘win’ – that if I forgave those who had wounded and hurt me, it was giving them permission to continue. As I meditated on this hidden belief that had now come to light, I discovered that no, that is not so. I began to understand that forgiveness would free me. That with forgiveness, my body and heart would have no place for old bitterness, fear or anger. Instead, I would be free and whole. That there would be space in my heart for more unconditional love – for myself and others.
It’s not the first time I’ve practiced forgiveness and unconditional love. But this time I needed to really get to the bottom of it. I’d recently had a few people say to me, Maret, it’s time to forgive. Initially I had no idea what they were talking about, but when I hear something 3 times I listen to it. The 1st time I can notice it and ignore it, the 2nd time it’s interesting, the 3rd time tells me that a pattern has emerged. So when I heard it for the 3rd time, I took notice and thought there must be something hidden deep that I now need to forgive. A friend suggested a daily spiritual practice. So that is how I started.

Listen to everything around you, whether human or not
I always appreciate the wonderful things that science and medicine can do for me. However, I also appreciate and use complementary sources for healing. At the moment I’m focusing on healing a lack of hearing in my left ear. I’ve been told medically that nothing can be done to improve my hearing (I won’t go into the detail of why that is so). So I’ve decided to work on my hearing with an intuitive medical healer, to structurally and functionally heal my left ear.

I’m looking forward to our first evening of shamanic/awareness meditation for 2021. We focus initially on relaxing into a meditative space and then we journey into higher states of our own consciousness. Here we can seek new information, gain new insights or simply be aware and enjoy the experience. Often insights can come to us at a later date. It’s a beautiful space to be in.

Think positive rather than negative thoughts, yes … but
The energy on the planet (planetary energy not the human energy) has been changing for quite some time. And this affects us all. It’s calling us to become more authentic, more aligned to our soul, more of who we truly are. We can resist it or go with it. If we keep resisting it, we continue to experience more misery than we need to. This can involve us in unhelpful game playing, suppression, control and codependent relationships. However, there are many things we can do to assist ourselves in moving forward into greater happiness, well-being and alignment with the interdependent planetary energies.
New year's resolution ... or new intention?
Sometimes I don’t understand manifestation at all - at other times it works like a charm. There are many ways to manifest and we need to find what works best for each of us individually. However, one thing that is always helpful is to be very clear on what our intention is, what we want to bring into our life. At the end of every year I always like to get clear on an intention for the next year.
I prefer intention to new year’s resolution. The choice is always yours of course, whether you go with resolution or/and intention. It appears to me that a new year resolution is about resolving something or making lists of what we want in our lives (much of which we often don’t achieve). On the other hand, an intention is about making a clear choice. And we need to make sure that our intentions are positive not negative because the universe brings to us what we focus on. I encourage you to meditate on an intention for 2021.

The integrity of ‘having’ – a way of deciding what things to have in your life
At the moment I’m focusing on the integrity (or inspiration) of ‘having’ – as distinguished from the integrity of ‘doing’ or the integrity of ‘being’. We need all three in our lives but sometimes one or the other becomes the primary focus.
For me it’s currently ‘having’ as I’m downsizing and pondering what to keep and what to let go. I’ve previously used the Marie Kondo advice of holding an object and if it brings me joy, keep it and if it doesn’t, let it go. This helped me let go of things that I thought I should have in my home eg. certain photos, gifts etc. Once I let go of those things that didn’t bring me joy, I felt so much better.
I now have around me things that bring me joy. However, as I want to downsize and live in a smaller place, how will I now decide what to let go of? The process that I’ve decided to follow is about my integrity of having. It’s about having around me not just what brings me joy, but what actually inspires me. It’s about ensuring that all the physical things that I have in my life support not just my human self, but also support my true self (or essence or resonance) and my alignment to that.

What to say when there’s nothing to say? – an option, stay peacefully in silence
It’s time for my monthly reflection blog and I haven’t much to say. I’m in the throes of packing and moving and at the moment, nothing much else is on my mind. What I’m appreciating most is silence.
Silence is not about being without sound or movement around you. It’s about being in our inner stillness and silence. As Rumi says: “The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear” and “Silence is the language of God; all else is poor translation”. Many teachers have also said: the more silent you become, the more wisdom you’ll have; the more silent you are, the more you’ll be able

Acceptance … does not mean defeat
Sometimes the things that happen to us can knock us off our feet. Even if those things are not really tragic (in the big picture of life). For me, it was me railing against what life has thrown me (getting less for the sale of my house than I wanted to) and losing my strong connection to my place of centredness, joy and stillness. As I mentioned in the last blog, I eventually realised that ‘acceptance’ was a key for gaining back my true alignment. This does not mean defeat. It means accepting that things are as they are and then focusing on how to positively move forward. True acceptance comes from a place of strength.
Acceptance has been very liberating for me. I’ve also seen it’s effect in countless clients. Many have had horrendous experiences that leave scars for life. For them, acceptance is about saying this is how it was, this is the impact that it had on me, and it wasn’t okay, it was unacceptable … however I am going to move on from this and heal my wounds as best as I can and stop reacting to life from that place of woundedness. Instead I will find myself through all of this and start living my life from a place of who I truly am.

Betwixt and between – when we want things to go differently
I’m still in a betwixt and between place and am struggling with unhlepful emotions and thoughts. I haven’t been in this place for quite some time. At times I can clearly feel that it’s my body (or human self) that is experiencing this, whereas my soul (or higher self) is quite calm and in her place of equanimity, peace and joy. Usually I manage to quickly down settle my body (human) thoughts and emotions and retain a focus on the energy of my soul and her joyful, calm self. But not at the moment.
The issue is that I’ve sold my home for far less than I wanted to (which gives me less money to spend on my new home). I’m angry with the universe because I’m feeling unsupported and in a way, abandoned. Probably a ridiculous thing to feel but nevertheless, that’s how I feel. And at the same time I’ve very grateful for family and friends who are supporting me through this and reassuring me that it will all work out.
It has been my choice to downsize and sell my home. I just wanted it to go differently. What can we do when things don’t work out as we wanted them to work out? In a way we just need to ride it through and sometimes we need to let ourselves mourn before we can move on. We can also forgive ourselves for being human. We can practice staying connected to our vision for the future and stay connected to the energy of our soul (or true self). We can simply get on with the things that we need to do (in my case find a new home) – while still every day doing some things, no matter how small, that give us joy.

The very uncomfortable feeling of ‘in-between’
Today, I’m feeling a little flat. For the last few months I’ve been working hard to get my home ship shape for sale. The work has certainly kept me focussed and busy during these discombobulating times. However, now that the work is finished and my home is on the market, I’m feeling a little lost and ‘flat’. As a friend reminded me, it’s that feeling of ‘in-between’.
The in-between that I’m referring to is the time between the old or known, and the new or unknown. We know what we are letting go of, but don’t yet know what we are going to step into. For me, I’ve got through the sadness of letting go of my home that I love and am ready to step into the new – but I don’t know what that new will be ie. what and where my new home will be. It’s a most uncomfortable feeling.

Dreams can help guide your way forward
Lately I’ve been having some vivid dreams. Life is pretty quiet and I’m mainly at home, and I’ve felt that I haven’t had much personal expansion or growth lately. However, my dreams are showing me otherwise.
Dreams can be telling you to take notice and wake up; or to simply keep going; or you’re doing well and you’re on track. Over the years I’ve had all 3 types of dreams. Lately the focus of my dreams seems to be on sovereignty, as I’ve had dreams about queens and kings.
I’ve come to realise that my path (over many lifetimes) is about uncovering and expressing my own sovereignty. This is about stepping fully into my own power and authority ie. being a true expression of my soul in all that I do, be, have. I believe that this is the true path for all of us on this planet.

When things are uncertain, you can use your imagination
Lately, I’ve been feeling uncertain about some things in my life. I’ve wondered (or being truthful, worried) about how to make some changes in my life. I’ve also been aware of the energy on the planet – of fear, anger, denial, grief, anxiety and stress. Yet on the other hand, there is also the energy of hope, new possibilities, optimism, trust and ego-less thinking. These contradictory energies can at times be quite unsettling. I can sometimes struggle to find a positive way forward. However, I do know that there are some things that I can focus on, to assist me manifesting the future life that I want.

How to stay on a more even keel during these discombobulating times
Many of us have days where we feel centred, go about our days on an even keel and then wham oh, we suddenly spiral down and spend the rest of the day (or days) feeling flat or unhappy. It’s not a pleasant place to be in. That’s when we often over-eat, feel irritable, just want to be left alone, veg out etc etc.
Is there anything we can do about it? Yes. Though it’s not always easy to motivate ourselves to get out of that ‘stuck’ place. However, there are practices that I do when I’m feeling down or flat that help me feel better (provided I can remember to do them!). Here are a few tips.

Fractology and Shamanic Healing – now online
I continue to offer energy healing sessions, now all online. Online sessions can be powerful. Energetically, if we believe in oneness, interconnectedness and that consciousness is everywhere, then we know that distance healing works. When the time is right, I look forward to being able to return to offering sessions in my practice room in Summer Hill, Sydney.
Online sessions can be Skype, Zoom, Facetime or WhatsApp. The format is similar to face to face sessions. Initially we chat to get clear on what you’d like to focus on, issues and some ways to move forward – this is followed by energy healing where you can make yourself comfortable either lying down or sitting. Sessions last around 1 hr 15 min.
My fee is AUD$120. However, during this time when many are losing their jobs or are under extra financial stress, I have a sliding scale so please contact me and we can discuss an appropriate fee.

Fear can stagnate in our bodies – how do we shift it?
Fear often comes with the unknown. Fear tells us is that we are out of our comfort zone. And it tells us to slow down or stop, consider the options and go forward slowly.
There’s no denying it, many of us are feeling some level of fear during these challenging and uncertain times. One of the things about fear is that it sits in our body. In certain situations (and I hid it well) I used to be ‘frozen’ by fear unable to speak – a pattern that was with me for many years. I’ll share with you some of the things that I’ve done over the years, that has moved the fear out of my body.

Whose rules do you live by?
Many of us live by rules that others (or society) have set for us. We’re not even aware we are doing this. A few years ago when I felt very irritated, I discovered that it was because I was living by other people’s rules and not by ‘Maret rules’. It was only when I changed the rules that I lived by, that I moved past that particular episode of irritation.
Our higher self (or soul) is always calling us to become aware of the ‘rules’ that we live by and to discard them if they don’t work for us. Whose rules do you live by? For me, it was my mothers. For example, she regularly said to me: the only person I can trust is her; she knows me better than I know myself; she knows what is best for me; never answer back to anyone, especially her; I am too tall and big and must always hide my hands under the table; your sister is the only one who knows the right thing to do; be silent, don’t talk, etc. And I took it all on board. We always have a choice how we respond. With hindsight, I can see that I chose compliance instead of rebellion.
Shamaret Meditation March 2020

Will fear stop you going beyond your comfort zone?
It can be scary doing something new out of our comfort zone, especially if it’s something that we feel we’ll be judged for and possibly found lacking, or in my case that it’s not safe to be seen (an old childhood fear that every now and then raises its head). I wonder what your fear is?
A couple of months ago I got very clear guidance about doing something new this year (a workshop) and who I was to collaborate with. At the time, as the guidance flowed through, all I felt was excitement and exhilaration. However, recently when I started thinking about actually running a new workshop, I noticed a feeling of fear. I’m so familiar with that feeling, I’ve known it most of my life. I thought for a moment that it would be easier to not step out of my comfort zone and just stay doing the same old same old. However, that could lead to stagnation and if I wanted to keep growing spiritually, emotionally and mentally, then I needed to embrace the new and unknown.
Setting a clear intention for 2020
Happy New year and thank you for subscribing to my ‘monthly buzz’, appreciate it. I’m excited about 2020 and look forward to new opportunities and experiences during the year.
It feels like it’s time to reassess how authentically we live our lives. During much of my life I've been scared to ‘show myself’ (my awareness) and to live my dream. It’s time that changed.
What I find helpful is to set a clear intention in the new year for the year ahead. This year my intention is to have lots more ‘Maret-ness’ in my life - to express my essence more fully in all that I do, be and have. I want to feel excited every morning about what the day ahead will bring. I want to get clearer on what my unique gift or skill is (every person on this planet has their own unique gift or skill) - and to bring that into every aspect of my work.
What am I avoiding when I get sick?
Now I know this doesn’t apply to everyone or to many illnesses. Illness can have many causes, emotional, mental, genetic, chemical, physical or spiritual. However, for me, I sometimes get colds when I’m either wanting to avoid something, or I’m overdoing it a bit (stressed) and I need time alone, or I need to integrate something new.
I’m currently getting over a cold. I like to blame the smoke (from the fires in NSW). It was a particularly smoky day when I got a sore throat, that then moved into laryngitis and finally into a cold. It was a nuisance the week that it happened, as it was a particularly busy week with a number of work appointments and social outings I’d been looking forward to. However, when I looked into it (being guided by another healer), I discovered that I simply wanted to do nothing for a week and I needed time alone.
I thought I’d got over this pattern, needing to get sick instead of saying ‘no, I’m not available’ – let alone, dare I admit it - no, I’m not available because I need some time alone and I need to nurture myself. It’s called ‘sacred selfishness’ because unless we have the capacity to nurture and unconditionally love ourselves, how can we nurture and unconditionally love others?

Food for thought
Are you a meditator or a spiritual warrior?
For over 25 years I was a regular (often daily) meditator. I reluctantly admit that I initially had some fixed ideas about meditation – if I was to be a ‘proper’ meditator, I needed to sit in a particular way, I needed to sit for a certain length of time, I needed to sit before 7am, etc. I eventually learnt that this was not what was important in meditation, at least not for me. I needed to work out the style of meditation that most effectively helped me become still, present and conscious. I gradually learnt that meditation was a means to an end, not an end in itself.
You’re very welcome to join me for one night of meditation or on a regular basis. We meet on the first Monday of the month (March to November).

Integrity of ‘being’, ‘doing’ and ‘having’
There is a very important relationship between our being, doing and having.
When we seek personal growth, authenticity or alignment – it’s not just about expansion of our metaphysical being, but also about expansion of our physical doing and having.
