Moving through cycles of expansion
Sometimes we go through what I call a personal ‘shift’. By ‘shift’ I’m referring to something that changes or expands within us. The end result is often a shift in our perception ie how we perceive our reality, or what is real for us. It can mean giving up a learnt or conditioned part of ourselves, or a behaviour pattern that no longer serves us, or reaching for something new, so that we can connect with more of who we truly are.
It’s not uncommon that when we’re going through a shift, we might experience a need to be alone. This can be a time for reflection or a quiet ‘veg out’ time where we allow the shift to move through us until we ‘come out the other side’. Introverts especially like alone-time. It’s true for myself, as I find myself re-energised by having quiet time alone. Extroverts on the other hand, often re-energise through connection and being with others.
I’ve gone through many expansive shifts. We each have our own pattern when we go through shifts For me, that pattern was grief. I went through a lot of sadness over past years. Grief is often an indication that something has ended. Others may experience a pattern of anger, irritation, acting out, feeling miserable, lacking motivation etc. And that too will pass. Because it’s simply part of the cycle (long or short) that we are going through.
Cycles of expansion usually go like this (& it’s a bit of an over-generalisation):
- we set an intention that we want something new in our lives, or a new pattern of behaviour (in numerology it’s represented by the number 1, the beginning of a new cycle)
- then we look at the duality of it, ie the positive and negative aspects, or we swing between wanting to stay in the ‘old’ and wanting the ‘new’ (numerology 2)
- then we decide yes, we are going ahead into the new, we get creative, look at positive ways we can move forward (3)
- and once we make that decision, we need to do the work to create the change that we want (4) – the number 4 is often not liked by people because it means actually doing the work to create the change that we want
- after the work, we start to experience the change in our lives (5)
- followed by greater feelings of ease and perhaps self-love (6)
- and as our perception expands, we may step into a higher plane of reality or spirituality, becoming more of who we truly are (7)
- which brings more balance into our lives (8)
- and then we move into the completion of that cycle (9)
After which we may rest and ‘plateau’ – before we then set a new intention (or choice) and start a new cycle (1 - 9).
The plateau that we have after the shift can be very pleasurable and comfortable. However, it will not stay that way forever. We can’t stay still, we can only go backwards or forwards. I used to think that when I reached the ‘end of the tunnel’ and the ‘light’ that I was searching for, that I’d have happiness and ease forever. It hugely annoyed me off that no, there would be more expansion to reach for, a new cycle to go through, a new level of expansion and consciousness to achieve. A kind of infinite and eternal pattern of expansion.
I’m used to it now, but it’s not always been easy, especially in the dense energy that is on our planet. As the old structures and co-dependencies keep breaking down around us, hopefully most of us will desire to keep moving forward, creating more interdependent structures and lives on our planet.
I wish you much ease and grace as you journey through your own cycles of expansion.
